Often we talk about leaving this planet in better shape than we inherited her for the benefit of our children. This is a huge task, and even in spite of the paradigm shift that is happening, we haven’t been able to change our behavior so that we stop the systematical degradation of nature and society. The following news are taken from the newsletter of SleepWell for june 2011. Sustainability in Practice: Jan Peter Bergkvist’s book released in 2010 in an English edition is now being printed in its second thousand and, at the same time, released in three new language versions, Chinese, French and Swedish. The second printing is due to be published fall 2011. Copies of the book in English are currently available from order@sleepwell.nu. World Water Week: August in Stockholm is summer in the Capital of Scandinavia. Join 2500 water professionals who, during the course of a week, discuss debate and celebrate sustainable water practices. This year’s Stockholm Water Prize laureate Professor Christopher Carpenter will receive the Stockholm Water Prize from the hand of His Majesty The King of Sweden, for the work on how lake ecosystems are affected by the surrounding landscape and by human activities. His findings have formed the basis for concrete solutions on how to manage lakes. For more information and registration please check out the World Water Week web page. SleepWell in Paris: In the month of July SleepWell shall be based in Paris and is open for business as usual. The easiest way to get in contact is as always by e-mail: janpeter.bergkvist@sleepwell.nu.
