Jahwa klimatkompenserar sin verksamhet

Measuring greenhouse emissions isn’t always easy, especially from the so-called Scope 3 sources, but ZeroMission’s customer Jahwa Fikaservice has shown that it needn’t always be difficult. In carbon accounting Scope 3 emissions come from all sources upstream – production – and downstream – use and disposal. Although the Greenhouse Gas Protocol only requires companies to report on Scope 1 and 2 emissions, many of our customers are expanding their reporting in Scope 3 since that’s often where they have greatest impact. Arvid Nordqvist, Max Hamburgers and Arla do this for the products they carbon offset. Jahwa Fikaservice in Östersund is another such company. Determined to report and offset for all emissions from 2014, Jahwa Fikaservice is now measuring the impact of the use phase of their coffee machines, staff commuting and all inbound transport. Since he was unable to get figures for electricity use from the machine supplier, Erik Wahlund from Jahwa took matters into his own hands and attached a meter to the machines. This is a great example to us all, demonstrating that some Scope 3 reporting need not be so difficult after all.
