Nordic conference on Corporate Social Responsibility
2013-08-02

An international conference is arranged on October 3-4 2013 in Malmö, Sweden, where Nordic sustainability professionals and business leaders meet to exchange their latest insights in sustainability management. A physical forum for professionals from all sectors has during the past three annual events proved to be an important way to catalyze and nurture the rapidly growing interest for sustainable business practices.
The conference CSR North showcases how businesses from the Nordic countries implement sustainability strategies and practices. A range of prominent speakers, practical workshops and discussion seminars provide the participants with new evidence and inspiration on topics such as sustainability reporting and procurement, ethical business practices, responsible supply chain management and implementation of sustainability strategies. Speakers represent large companies such as IKEA, Atlas Copco and Fujitsu, as well as county councils, the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Danish Council for Corporate Responsibility and many more.
- There are numerous great examples of organizations from the Nordic countries that clearly have understood the strategic values of sustainability, some of which will be presenting at CSR North. These organizations have worked hard to find new ways of running their business to stay ahead of competition, decrease risks and find new revenue streams through sustainability practices, says event manager Carl Höjman from TEM Foundation.
CSR North aims to be the natural annual meeting point for professionals to learn from each other and get up to date with the latest best practices in sustainability management, irrespectively of their sector and industry.
The three previous annual conferences have been directed only to businesses in southern Sweden and they have attracted 200 participants yearly. The 2013 conference, CSR North, expands the concept and will be held in English to welcome international delegates from the Nordic and Baltic regions.
